Fountain Sustainability Action Plan

In collaboration with The Institute for the Built Environment, Linnean worked with the City of Fountain, Colorado to develop a Sustainability Action Plan (SAP). With an already strong culture of doing more with less, the City of Fountain aimed to use the SAP as a tool to further sustainability goals and to lead by example as a sustainability steward for the broader Front Range community.
Together IBE and Linnean facilitated a visioning workshop to share research and data analysis, develop shared sustainability goals, and identify next steps for the City’s sustainability efforts. The outcomes of this workshop, along with insight gathered during key staff interviews, informed the indicators and initiatives outlined in the SAP report.
As part of this work, Linnean also conducted an in-depth analysis of the City’s energy and water resource use across all city departments over the past three years. Linnean used this data to develop a city-specific dashboard system that will allow Fountain staff to continue to monitor and evaluate sustainability performance over time.
