Linnean developed a monitoring and verification (M&V) plan for C&H Architects as part of Williams College’s commitment to creating a campus of environmentally positive high performance buildings. Linnean’s M&V plan defined a detailed process for embedding performance monitoring throughout all project phases, going beyond traditional post-occupancy evaluation practices to integrate design and construction choices for more effective monitoring.
Linnean helped the project team develop a view of performance that is measurable and meaningful by considering the entire building and all of its systems in a comprehensive way. This whole-systems thinking emphasizes connections between building systems and processes and improves communication among professionals and stakeholders throughout the life of each project.
