East Coast Multifamily Housing Resilience Assessment Tool

East Coast, USA

Linnean conducted a climate vulnerability and resilience assessment for a coastal state housing authority. This work included climate hazard mapping focused on both current flood risk and future inundation due to sea level rise. Flooding combined with exposure to elevated heat, hurricane force winds, and other hazards were evaluated across a portfolio of over 150 affordable housing sites.

Through collaboration with New Ecology, Inc and several state agencies, the project team worked to develop a resilience assessment tool that allowed the housing authority to continue to consider climate issues in future planning and enhance the resilience of the state’s affordable housing stock.

Additionally, Linnean and New Ecology co-facilitated a series of stakeholder workshops that engaged housing authority staff, property owners, and building managers around issues of climate vulnerability and resilience at both the state and facility scale.
